Drupal Website Development
Here at CMS Professionals we organise development in to Iterations and Units:
Unit
A single development Unit buys the time of one developer spread over a two week period. We can advise you as to how many Units we think your project will require. You can order more than one Unit and you can choose how and when you use them.
Iteration
To commission an Iteration (a round of actual development) you need to order at least one Unit. Iterations are always two weeks in duration. They are characterised by preparation work and a planning meeting prior to the Iteration, attended by all interested parties and during which the proceeding Iteration is planned in detail, and then progress calls every other day for the duration of the Iteration (these calls are sometimes referred to as the "scrum" - a short catch-up call with the whole team). At the end of the Iteration there will be a demonstration by your project manager of the features created during.
The cost of your iteration depends on two factors:
- The project management time required
- The number of Units you wish to use during this Iteration
Project Management
Project management is always invoiced on a time and materials basis and for each Iteration it is, in itself, divided in to two parts:
Firstly, the time required for planning. The cost of this element is wholly dependent on how involved CMS Professionals are in the planning process and how much of our collective time is taken up. Typically we need to create documentation and attend several meetings, and sometimes several people need to be involved in the planning. We always keep an open clock with our clients to avoid surprises.
Secondly, the number of Units in the Iteration. There is some time required for managing resource, information and the relationship during an Iteration. For example, there are "scrum" daily meetings, the expected catch-up calls, meetings, change requests, reporting updates and the usual general fire-fighting and cat-herding that comes with the territory.
Payment Policy
Payment of all invoices must be received within 30 days of issue of invoice(s). Failure to pay invoices during ongoing development iterations may result in all work being halted. Late payment of invoices will incur statutory fees and charges.
Important Information
CMS Professionals no longer supports Microsoft Internet Explorer 6. If you specifically require your website to work with this older version of Microsoft's browser, we will need to be informed in advance and there will be an additional charge for testing and fixing.
If you have no functional requirements or specifications, or your specifications are not detailed enough, we will insist on this work being undertaken - not necessarily by us, although we offer Project Planning services, but we cannot engage effectively with you if it is not done to a satisfactory standard.
All prices exclude UK VAT, which is variable and subject to change.
Prices also exclude any expenses for travel, subsistence, accommodation or materials.
