Information Management Professionals Choose Drupal

Client:
UKeiG

The UKeiG is a working group of information management professionals and a part of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals. They approached us to port their existing website, plus some new features, on to Drupal. The goals were simple enough - move away from a "static" HTML site and its management challenges, move on to an open source and proven platform and open the door to future enhancements/pluggable features.

Obviously, the move from a static site to a content management system opened all sorts of doors, but the key additional features we added during the site move were a blog (previously this was on blogger.com), automatically generated RSS feeds, a member wiki and private areas of the website.

There was a lot of content to migrate, which presented something of a challenge, but we're getting quite used to moving content in to Drupal these days, so it was all in a days' work!

We continue to work with the UKeiG to provide ongoing support and advice, including the development of new features and, in all likelihood, work on a re-design in the coming months. But for now they are happy to be content managed so they can hang up their Dreamweaver licenses and do everything online.
