Brochure Site For The Taxonomy Experts
The Vocabulary Management Group (VocMan for short) are a consultancy firm made up of taxonomy specialists and based in the UK. They happened across Drupal on their travels, while undertaking work for one of their larger clients, and decided it looked like a good fit for their organisation and their website. (Drupal's strengths in the taxonomy department had impressed them.) They appointed us to build them something simple, effective, easy to manage and flexible.
We did just that, quickly deploying their new website on Drupal 6. It's a fairly straightforward set-up, making use of many core features of Drupal, plus the usual Views + CCK combination, known and loved by all in Drupal circles. We also introduced them to the WYSIWYG API with TinyMCE, our usual WYSIWYG solution, as well as using the excellent Nice Menus module to manage their drop-down primary navigation.
Added extras include auto-generated site map, courtesy of the Site Map module and advanced response form creation with Webform. We also provided them with training and documentation to allow them to effortlessly manage their Drupal installation themselves.
Using the power of Drupal and a few good contributed modules like this is a win win for all concerned. We built the site quickly and jobs like these are excellent cash flow. And VocMan benefited from a cheap build with all the features they hoped for. It shows how Drupal is also great for small jobs where good, straightforward but flexible content management is important.
